Oil bronzes allow for shimmering metal effects on oil paintings and other primed surfaces such as wood, metal, or plaster. They should be used in combination with the Schmincke Bronze Medium
Mix the required amount of colour, consisting of 3 parts Oil Bronze and 2 parts Bronze Medium with a palette knife. If necessary the colour can be diluted with some turpentine substitute . For particularly absorbent surfaces, we recommend treating the surface beforehand with some Bronze Medium diluted with turpentine substitute.
Oil bronzes dry smudge- and waterproof.
The colour film remains soluble after drying with turpentine oil or turpentine substitute.
